Stayton is a small rural community 15 miles east of Salem, located on the Santiam River. The walk goes through part of historic Stayton, as well as residential areas. Route passes a hospital, library, high school, and cemetery, and goes through Pioneer Park and over the reconstructed Jordan-Stayton covered bridge.
Driving Directions: From I-5 north or south, take Hwy. 22 (Stayton/Detroit Dam) exit and go east 12 miles to the Stayton/Sublimity exit. Turn right on Cascade Hwy. Turn right at First Avenue. Safeway is on the right at 1535 N. First Avenue.
