Sweet Home, OR Covered Bridge Walk

Registration 9:45-10:00 AM. Walk starts promptly at 10:00 AM.

This walk begins at the Weddle Covered Bridge. This well maintained bridge is now a pedestrian bridge that once spanned Thomas Creek near Scio, Oregon. The bridge was set to be destroyed in 1980 but local people objected, and a program was developed through the State to save the bridge. It was removed from its original place and re-assembled in Sweet Home in 1989.
This walk goes along a trail that was once a local rail system that served a local lumber mill. From this walk you'll see views of the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

Driving Directions: From Hwy. 20 W, right on 12th Avenue. Left on Kalmia 2 blocks. Right on 14th Avenue a short way and left into Sanky Park.
