Enjoy walking through covered bridges and local parks while learning about the history of this community. Stayton was established in 1891. It's a small rural community, 15 miles east of Salem, located on the Santiam River.
The walk goes by a hospital, library, high school and cemetery. It goes through Pioneer park and over the reconstructed Jordan-Stayton covered bridge.

Driving Directions: From I-5 north or south, take Hwy. 22 (Stayton/Detroit Dam) exit and go east 12 miles to the Stayton/Sublimity exit. Turn right on Cascade Hwy. Turn right at First Avenue. Safeway is on the right at 1535 N. First Avenue.
