Independence

Description:
Independence is a small town but has a lot to offer in this walk. Located by the Willamette River, there are spectacular river views in its historic downtown. Inspiration Gardens is not to be missed. This walk is rated 1A which is mostly a flat walk on sidewalks with little elevation changes.
We offer a 5 and 10 KM walk routes. (3.1 and 6.2 miles) The 10km usually is completed in 2 hrs.

Driving Directions:
From I-5 exit 253 to Salem City Center. Follow signs to OR22 West. Right lane on Front St. ramp us to cross the bridge. 5 1/2 miles on OR22 before turning left on OR51 South to Independence. Right on Monmouth St to Central Plaza Center at 13th St on left.

From 99W east on Main St. at traffic light in Monmouth to go to Independence. Right at 2nd traffic light at Gun Club Rd. (by McDonalds) to start point.
