The walk is rated 2A for the 6 and 10K routes. The walk has some moderate hills but it is mostly on pavement or asphalt.

Description:
The walk from Taft to Nelscott goes by Taft Elementary and High School and residential areas not on US 101. Taft is a small, charming historic beach town. Taft is home to the Lincoln Glass Factory as well as the North Lincoln County Historical Museum, The Museum has no fee but accepts donations.
Olivia Beach residential area in Nelscott has newer residences often with spectacular ocean views. Schooner Creek Discovery Park is a new Lincoln City Park with a unique adaptive playground including 'the world's shortest park trail. Nelscott also has a wind phone, the Chasson wind phone. (This is a disconnected rotary or push-button telephone housed in a quiet, outdoor setting that allows people to have one-way conversations with deceased loved ones. This was started in Japan).
Lincoln City was formed from a merger of five small communities which include Taft and Nelscott.

Driving Directions:
In Lincoln City, Left SB or Right NB on US 101at SE 51st St. Left on Keel to park. Use the parking lot on Keel.
Registration will be at the playground.
