Salem: Minto-Brown Park

Register for the walk between 8:45-9AM. The walk begins at 9AM.

5 and 10K are two loops (5K each loop) rated 1B. Not alot of elevation gain and the walk is on sidewalks and natural paths.

Description:
Enjoy a leisurely walk, often in shade, in this popular & unique Salem city park of over 1200 acres of meadows and wooded areas bordering the Willamette River. There are two 5K loops for the 10K. The river loop may not be walked at all times due to high water. Paved/natural paths in park. You may view deer, bald eagles and other small wildlife on this walk. You will also have a good view of an osprey nest.

Driving directions:
I-5 take exit 253, head to Salem City Center and continue three blocks on Mission to Commercial St., turn left onto Commercial Street and get into the right lane. Turn right onto Owens Street which curves to the left and becomes River Road. Go for about a mile. Turn right at first traffic light onto Minto Island Road into park. Go on the road to its end at parking area 3, passing the dog park on the left. Walk begins at the information kiosk adjacent to parking area 3
