Fall Mushroom Camp

Fall mushrooms are some of the best! Come out and learn all about them!
This camp is designed to be a "mushroom intensive" experience for beginner to intermediate mushroom enthusiasts. We will start with an introduction to the basic anatomy, physiology, and ecology of mushrooms. Then we will discuss the major groups of fungi and show you the characteristics used to classify and identify some of the more common groups of mushrooms in our area, with a focus on those that are edible. We will spend time learning to use field guides and keys. Then you will learn about growing mushrooms, and prep your own table top "mushroom farm" to grow mushrooms at home. You will also get to sample wild mushroom dishes at all the meals, and see how they are prepared. And, of course, we will spend plenty of time searching for and studying mushrooms in the woods.

Cost: $200 individual/ $350 couple
includes dinner friday, 3 meals saturday, and breakfast on sunday, all books, materials, mushroom farm, and camping (tent, hammock, or small trailer/camper).
