Hello Enthusiasts and Irish Music Lovers:
With three jam sessions under our belts, I'm working on finding a venue for our next!
In the meantime, I'd like to offer my home for a practice session to get 4 or 5 songs in fine fettle (tempo, key, verses), just so everyone -- from beginner to semi-beginner (aka, me) -- can play/sing along with confidence and joy. Thanks to initiative of Sue Banks, I'll/we'll be working on a more practical songbook / playlist and will share in advance.
Suggested sing-alongs:
- Galway Girl (in C)
- Blow Ye Winds in the morning
- Let Union Be (Up tempo-version of my own design)
- Wild Mountain Time (w/ 5th Verse)
Suggested instrumental to learn "by ear", or so I'm told:
- Road to Lisdoonvarna [https://youtu.be/Y9XMjYBhYEU?si=N_8J2raDkLd1vo5o]
- Toss the Feathers (great guitar strum-along) [https://youtu.be/WpDq0aZpjRM?si=5_WiWv5nXgD-9QU9]
- Sí Bheag Sí Mhór [https://youtu.be/W3w23cCMwrU?si=cnChQlhxx_qHGc28]
If you have a favorite tune or two to suggest, add a note! Will send address to those who RSVP.
