Lakewood Park, Leander

This will be the first field trip of the 2026-2027 season. And it will be to a new park we have not used in the past. The park features several walking trails, many oak trees and a nice water feature. First we will check the trails for passerines and then the water area for migrating shorebirds.
Our field trips are open to the public and we encourage those new to birding to join them. Our field trips are intended primarily for our members, but we welcome new birders to participate for their first time. We do request if you decide to attend additional field trips or our quarterly meetings that you join our group. The membership application can be downloaded from there and with all the necessary instructions.
Please bring plenty of water, wear appropriate clothing and shoes to do a lot of walking, bug spray and snacks if you would like. It will be hot when we finish
