Katy Crossing Trail, Georgetown
Details
This is a weekday field trip for those who can attend. We will be blazing a new birding trail for WAG. The trail begins near the Georgetown Parks office and follows the San Gabriel River. This trip is limited in participants in that it follows a trail often used by mountain bikers and thus needs to be held to a small group. We will be looking for passerines (fall migrating birds and early winter residents) as well as water birds.
Our field trips are open to the public and we encourage those new to birding to join them. Our field trips are intended primarily for our members, but we welcome new birders to participate for their first time. We do request if you decide to attend additional field trips or our quarterly meetings that you join our group. The membership application can be downloaded from there and with all the necessary instructions.
Please bring plenty of water, wear appropriate clothing and shoes to do a lot of walking, bug spray and snacks if you would like. It will be hot when we finish
