Lakeline Lake is a surprisingly productive stopover site because it offers:

• Open water for early waterfowl
• Surrounding willows and riparian edges for warblers and flycatchers
• Adjacent grassy areas that hold sparrows and late-season passerines
• Good visibility for scanning rafts of ducks and grebes
• This is one of those “transition window” outings where you can catch two seasons at once — the tail end of migration and the first wave of winter residents. Lakeline Lake is especially good for detecting the very first waterfowl arrivals in Williamson County
