Meet Wildlife Rehabber Ed Sones at the November Quarterly Meeting
Ever wondered what it takes to heal a wounded hawk, or what it’s like to share your living room with a hissing vulture? Find out at our upcoming Williamson Audubon Quarterly Meeting on Tuesday, November 10th, featuring acclaimed Cedar Park wildlife rehabilitator Ed Sones!
In his captivating presentation, "Adventures of a Wildlife Rehabber," Ed will pull back the curtain on the demanding, heartbreaking, and deeply rewarding world of wildlife rescue. Over a 30-year volunteer career that began with just two backyard squirrels, Ed has personally treated and cared for more than 4,000 birds across 120+ local species. He will share incredible stories from the front lines of avian rescue and discuss the vital role rehabilitation plays in connecting our local communities with the beauty of nature.
The Highlight of the Night: Ed won't be coming alone! He is bringing several of his permanent "education bird" patients with him. This is a phenomenal, family-friendly opportunity for our members to see magnificent hawks, owls, and other birds of prey up close while learning about their biology, behaviors, and how we can protect them.
Whether you are a lifelong birder or just curious about local wildlife conservation, this is a meeting you won't want to miss. Mark your calendars, bring a friend, and get ready for an unforgettable evening with some of Central Texas's most striking apex predators!
(Socialize at 6:30 and program starts at 7pm)
