WILMINGTON HELPS Group Interest Meeting

My name is Thomas Louden. I am going to school to become a Social Worker, but I don’t want to wait until I get my agree to start helping people and making a lasting connection with my community. I grew up in Wilmington NC and have seen all the good, all the bad, and all the ugly. I am a humanitarian, IDK who or what you support politically or otherwise. If you or somebody you know needs help, I want to know what we as a community can do to rally and help (even if it’s small).
My goal is to start a Nonprofit Organization after I achieve my degree, this could very well be the building blocks for that. If you know anything about Nonprofits, you know they don’t form overnight. If we start NOW, we can have a huge impact in our community in just ONE YEAR.
We are going to meet up at Long Leaf Park to discuss the goal of the group and to plan 7 events to participate in for the remainder of the year. During each event, we will get community input on what we can do to help in a future event.

- Back to School supplies list sponsorships in August
- Community cleanups in September
- Trunk-or-Treat in October
- Thanksgiving Dinner sponsorships (ingredients drive) - in November
- Christmas sponsorships - in December
