Rev. Rowan Fairgrove, EPs, will speak at our next meeting, offering an oral history about her life as an activist. From the ERA and women's full faith and credit, to the struggle for abortion rights, to the anti-nuclear movement, to economic justice for women, relief for unhoused neighbors and much more. She'll share the solidarity she found with the queer community, with the Black community, with prisoners, with indigenous peoples, with immigrants, the unhoused community and in the worldwide interfaith social justice community.
It is hard to see so many of the movements she worked on arising as issues again in our times. But looking back over her life, Rowan feels hope that we can nonetheless create a culture of non-violence, respect, justice, and peace in which all may find health and growth, balance and hope, progress and inspiration.
