Conasauga River Trail memorial weekend, very difficult

Details
Let's explore the Conasauga River Trail in Georgia's Cohutta wilderness! This is a VERY difficult trail with river crossings and probably a LOT of blowdown. My last visit was 4 years ago and the trail was overgrown and hard to follow, with trees across the trail everywhere. It might be cleaned up, but it might be impassible. Won't know till we try!
In total the trail is end-to-end 12 miles with 38 crossings. Doubtful we'll see the whole trail because we're not shuttling, but will see how far we can get. On Saturday we'll meet at 10 central/11 eastern. The first 1.5 miles is downhill to get to the river. From there we'll zigzag across the river going upstream until we feel like stopping. Sunday we'll leave camp set up and explore, continuing up the river to see more of the trail (so bring a daypack). Monday pack up and head back out.
Starting at the northern trailhead. This is north of W Cow Pen Rd, turn at the sign to Murrays Lake, this last short rd is not on google maps.
Do not sign up unless you're prepared for waist deep water on slippery rocks, steep hills, and climbing over significant deadfall. Carry as light a pack as possible. Due to the difficulty of the trail we will all stick together, as opposed to go at your own pace, but you are ultimately still responsible for your own safety. Dogs that are good swimmers only.
But all that said, it's a fun trail!
