Hinton Ampner and the Battle of Cheriton Circular Walk

Details
This 7.5 miles (12 km) walk will take us through some pretty villages around Hinton Ampner, Cheriton, Beauworth and Kilmeston.
Throughout the month at Hinton Ampner there is a seasonal display of pumpkins.
In the 1540s, a large Tudor manor house was built in Hinton Ampner. In 1719 the Tudor house was demolished in favour of a new building (the old house being on the site of the present day orchard). The current Hinton Ampner house was built in 1793 and remodelled extensively in 1867.
The Battle of Cheriton was a major turning point in the English Civil War and resulted in an important Parliamentarian victory that helped shape the future of England.
