Join me for a scenic and historic 9km (5.6mi) walk through Beaulieu, Buckler’s Hard, and Bailey’s Hard in the heart of the New Forest.
We’ll explore the charming village of Beaulieu, known for its Georgian cottages, Palace House, and the ruins of Beaulieu Abbey, with ponies and donkeys often wandering the streets.
From there, we’ll head to Buckler’s Hard, an 18th-century shipbuilding village where wooden warships — including HMS Agamemnon — were built from New Forest oak. Today, it’s a peaceful riverside setting with a fascinating maritime history.
We’ll also pass through Bailey’s Hard, once a thriving brickmaking and early shipbuilding site, and walk through woodland that once supplied timber for the navy.

Terrain: gravel paths, boardwalks, and,at times, muddy riverside sections.

There will be a small charge of £2.00 per head per person for this walk on the day.
