Details

Join me for a relaxed and scenic circular walk starting from the charming village of Wickham, exploring the beautiful woodland and historic landscapes of the Forest of Bere.
This easy-going route is approximately 4 miles (6.5 km), which should take under 2 hours, making it ideal for a sociable Sunday afternoon stroll.
The walk is mostly flat with gentle gradients, following a mix of old railway paths, woodland trails, and countryside tracks. With one stile to climb over and crossing once the A34.
We begin from Wickham Car Park and head out along the former Meon Valley railway line. The route then leads into the tranquil West Walk area of the forest, one of the largest surviving sections of this historic royal hunting ground.
Along the route, we’ll pass through quiet forest tracks and cross small streams before rejoining the old railway line for a gentle return to Wickham.
The village itself is well worth exploring, with its historic square and independent shops adding to the charm of the day.

There will be a small charge of £2.00 per head per person for this walk on the day.
