What we’re about
A group for those based in and around Winchester and Southampton who have an interest in attending events revolving around science, and/or wish to meet other people who are interested in science, in all its different forms.
Previously, this group has focussed on events run at the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium (WSC), which has been hosting a series of Singles Nights that allowed local people to meet one another and make new friends. While these events will continue, this group has expanded to encompass a wider range of activities run by researchers from the University of Southampton and the Winchester School of Art (including art/science crossover events) that are likely to be of interest to local people, particularly those who are single or couples who wish to mix and mingle.
No knowledge of science is required to join this group and/or attend any of the events!
Note: for the WSC-specific events, you will need to buy a ticket directly from the WSC website in advance, which includes a curry (with vegetarian option) provided in the onsite café, and a range of fun games, and time to mingle with others, with the opportunity to enjoy canapés, a welcome drink, a planetarium show and a range of activities in the unique setting of the WSC.
