St Catherine’s, Twyford Down & Compton Lock Circular Walk.

We’ll meet at the bottom of St Catherine’s Hill by the Handlebar Cafe at 10:15 for a 10:30 start.
Walking again at the request of a couple of members. We will not be climbing but going round the side of the hill. The walk is suitable for people with a moderate fitness level and will be taken at a steady pace. It is approx 6 miles long, we walk around St Catherine’s Hill across Twyford Down ( where we get outstanding views of countryside) and back along the Itchen via Compton Lock, where there will be an opportunity for a dip, if the weather is warm enough.
If the car park is full, there is plenty up the road in the park and ride.
This is a chargeable event a fee of £2:00 will be payable on the day for non paid up members.
Update Have just walked the route (26th June). As well as the great views, there’s an abundance of wildflowers and many different species of birds and butterflies.
The paths are generally good, I look forward to seeing you next Thursday. It would be a shame to miss this walk.
