Lobos Island.
Details
Lobos Island is a small, uninhabited nature reserve located just of the coast of Fuerteventura. It is accessible by a short 15/20 minute ferry ride. The return fare is approx £15.00.
The Island is known for its Hiking Trails, volcanic landscapes, salt marshes and lagoons. The highest point is Montana La Caldera, a volcano with a summit that offers panoramic views. Climbing the volcano will be optional.
We will circumnavigate the Island, the walk is approx 6.5 miles in length, will be taken at a steady pace. I would consider it to be moderate (with the exception of the volcano climb) any should be suitable for all people of a moderate fitness level.
During the walk we will visit Punta Martino Lighthouse and finish at Playa de la Concha where there will be the opportunity for a swim and snorkel.
You should consider the weather conditions, wear the appropriate clothing and footwear. Sun protection is important and it is your responsibility to ensure you are well hydrated.
A packed lunch is essential.
We will meet outside Cotillo Beach Hotel at 9:30. Transport to and from the ferry port will be provided.
