Windsor Zen Meditation Meetup

Dear Windsor Zen Meetup members,

This Sunday we will be offering an online Full Moon Bodhisattva Ceremony after our morning meditation. The Full Moon Ceremony (Ryaku Fusatsu) is an ancient Zen ceremony providing the opportunity for us to renew our Bodhisattva vows as well as the sixteen precepts. Additionally, the ceremony represents a cleansing ritual in which we atone for past mistakes and vow to refrain from repeating them in the future.

The full moon is traditionally seen as a symbol of enlightenment, which ignites our potential for growth and transformation in the practice. Therefore, the Zen Ryaku Fusatsu ceremony offers a powerful vehicle for practitioners to renew their commitment to the path of awakening and to reaffirm the vow to cultivate greater awareness, compassion, and wisdom in daily life.

For the ceremony we will screen share the chant sheet. Please email me if you'd like a copy before we meet on Sunday. I will give some brief instructions before we begin the ceremony.
Sunday's Schedule
9:00 - 9:30 - Zazen (sitting meditation)
9:30 - 9:40 - Kinhin (walking meditation)
9:40 - 9:55 - Full Moon Ceremony
9:55 - 10:00 - Close & Goodbyes

Please join us to start your week on solid ground. Meditation begins with three bells at 7:00 a.m. and ends with one bell at 7:30 a.m. Following meditation we chant the morning Robe Chant two times in Japanese and once in English. (chant available in Zoom chat).

This meetup is a wonderful way to establish balance as you begin your week. Experienced and novice meditators are welcome. (Zoom link below)
