This is an experimental event to see how it might work.

Ever wonder why some boats just seem "faster" even in the same wind?
Whether you are a windsurfer, a dinghy sailor, a catamaran sailor, or a weekend cruiser on a 40-foot yacht, the physics of efficiency remain the same.
This session is designed for anyone with basic sailing experience who wants to move beyond "just moving" and start sailing with precision.

In this interactive 60-minute theory presentation, we will break down the Five Essentials—the core pillars used by professionals to find that extra gear:

  1. Sail Trim: Finding the "sweet spot" between flapping and stalling.
  2. Boat Balance: Why "Flat is Fast" and how to use your weight effectively.
  3. Boat Trim: Avoiding "transom drag" by getting your fore-and-aft position right.
  4. Centreboard/Daggerboard: How to reduce underwater drag without losing grip.
  5. Course Made Good: The art of sailing the fastest route, not just the straightest one.

Who is this for? If you have any basic sailing experience or have spent a few sessions on the water and want to understand why the boat does what it does, this is for you.

We apply these principles across Windsurfing, Dinghies, Keelboats, and Cruising boats.

What to bring: An open mind and your best sailing questions!
