π ABOUT HAMBURGER MARY'S
An "open-air bar and grille for open-minded people," Hamburger Mary's is a lively burger bar and drag show destination in the heart of Edgewater β and Chicago is lucky to have her back! π After 14 years on Clark Street in Andersonville, the beloved LGBTQ+-friendly institution closed in 2020 during the pandemic. After a "brief" five-year hiatus, Hamburger Mary's triumphantly returned to Chicago in July 2025 with a brand new Edgewater location β bringing back familiar faces, favorite menu items, and all the great events fans loved: Dining with the Divas drag shows, charity HamBINGO, Drag Brunch with Bottomless Mimosas, and MaryOke Karaoke. Welcome back, Mary! πβ¨ https://chicago.hamburgermarys.com/
π ABOUT HELL IN A HANDBAG PRODUCTIONS
If you've been with this group for a while, you already know and love these guys β and if you don't, you're in for a treat! π Many of us have seen their hilarious campy productions over the years β Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer π¦, Facts of Life: Satan School for Girls π, and of course the beloved Golden Girls: The Lost Episodes π β just to name a few!
Established in 2002, Hell in a Handbag Productions is committed to preserving, exploring, and celebrating camp, parody, and the ridiculous through a queer lens. The Chicago Reader calls it "The Gold Standard of Camp in Chicago" β and they're not wrong! π
Co-founded by artistic director David Cerda, the company is beloved for its particular brand of pop-culture send-ups β both acerbic parody and loving homage to movies and TV shows embraced by LGBTQ+ audiences. Hits include their wildly popular Golden Girls: The Lost Episodes series, SCARRIE: The Musical, The Birds, Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer, and much more.
Now in their 24th season, Hell in a Handbag performs at their boutique North Center venue, The Clutch, at 4335 N. Western Ave. Tonight's HamBINGO is a wonderful way to support this Chicago treasure! π
