Details
WINDY CITY DADS have been given a block of reserved seats for this advance screening where some of our members and family can enjoy in exchange to help promote this film.
How to Train Your Dragon," directed by the renowned Dean DeBlois.
Before you RSVP, please read through all of the following list of EXPECTATIONS to participate in this sponsored event...
We invite you and your family (or come alone) to join us for FREE Advance Screening of this film. We have been given a total of 10 guaranteed seats for our WINDY CITY DADS group to enjoy.
Everyone including guests must check-in prior to 6:15PM and participate in our GROUP PHOTO organized by our Event Hosts. We ask every family to upload 3-4 photo's to our meetup site before the event is over, of your family enjoying the event so we can share with our sponsor as a thank you for this opportunity.
Guest check-in table is usually placed near ticket collection; this is where we usually meetup to get a group photo. Parking and concessions are your responsibility.
For those of you on social media, we also ask that you share your family photos on your personal accounts like Facebook taging our "Windy City Dads" and using hashtag #WINDYCITYDADS so we can share, like and comment, which will help broaden our social media reach in an effort to expand our audience and ultimately get more members to join our meetup group. By doing so will also help us get more fun sponsored event opportunities.
Most importantly, we ask that ALL our members who attend our sponsored advance movie screenings, to WEAR their Windy City Dads shirt to the meetup, which does a few things; helps our members be more clearly recognized and the sponsor can tell which group we are with, plus it looks amazing in our group photo and member engagement photos that we know our sponsors really likes seeing too. If you don't have your own Windy City Dads Group shirt, you can buy it online from our Merchandise Store (to be launched soon). We feel this is a small ask that builds member engagement and appreciation for our sponsored opportunities. It’s a good thing to do.
ONLY!!! RSVP (+Guests) if you are 100% committed to going, checking in on-time and fully participate as noted above, since we don't want any seats to be empty. Once you RSVP, no changes can be made, your crew must attend -- no exceptions! If by chance you're no-show or change your RSVP (without approval), than you will loose the privilege to be included with any future advance screenings. Our waitlist is for the organizer to use, only if event sponsor increases our head count, if this happens then Brian Dykes will reach out to members via meetup messenger, so make sure your meetup notifications are turned ON so that you won't miss out.
Thanks for your understanding!

From three-time Oscar® nominee and Golden Globe winner Dean DeBlois, the creative visionary behind DreamWorks Animation’s acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, comes a stunning live-action reimagining of the film that launched the beloved franchise.
On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames; The Black Phone, For All Mankind) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated franchise), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society.
With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (BAFTA nominee Nico Parker; Dumbo, The Last of Us) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost; Snow White and the Huntsman, Shaun of the Dead) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding.
As an ancient threat emerges, endangering both Vikings and dragons, Hiccup’s friendship with Toothless becomes the key to forging a new future. Together, they must navigate the delicate path toward peace, soaring beyond the boundaries of their worlds and redefining what it means to be a hero and a leader.
The film also stars Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Gabriel Howell (Bodies), Bronwyn James (Wicked), Harry Trevaldwyn (Smothered), Ruth Codd (The Midnight Club), BAFTA nominee Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Murray McArthur (Game of Thrones).
Inspired by Cressida Cowell’s New York Times bestselling book series, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon franchise has captivated global audiences, earning four Academy Award® nominations and grossing more than $1.6 billion at the global box-office. Now, through cutting-edge visual effects, DeBlois transforms his beloved animated saga into a breathtaking live-action spectacle, bringing the epic adventures of Hiccup and Toothless to life with jaw-dropping realism as they discover the true meaning of friendship, courage and destiny.
