This afternoon, we'll join South Bay's Passion for Wine at the WineShoppe in Torrance as Ted Plemons co-owner of Cass Winery will be pouring a great selection of wines. The WineShoppe in Torrance is a boutique shop specializing in unique and hard to find wines from around the world. During the summer months every Saturday afternoon, the WineShoppe hosts the Winemaker Series hosting a different winery every week.
The Cass Estate Vineyard, located in the southeast of the town of Paso Robles, exemplifies the quality of the Paso Robles region with its warm days, cool coastal breezes, and exceptional soils. Resting at 900 feet of elevation, the 145-acre vineyard is planted to 12 varieties on a large terrace above the Huero River. The Cass Estate Vineyard grows numerous varieties including Rockin' One Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, Late Harvest Roussanne, Oasis Rose, Rockin' One Red, Backbone Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Dessert Syrah. You can check out their website at www.casswines.com for more info.
There will be 6 varietals poured this afternoon. The posting will be updated once the wines to be poured is finalized. There will be no food provided, so you are able to bring snacks to the tasting. You will not be disappointed at this wine tasting.
I am a wine club member, so please let the WineShoppe know that you are with the group for the wine club member fee of $15 each for the wine tasting (reg. $20).
Be sure to check out the selection of wines at the WineShoppe to purchase a bottle or two for your upcoming summer activities, including the 6 for $66 ($11/bottle - some great choices of wines there as well).
There is plenty of free parking. The wine tasting ends at 5 PM. There are many restaurants & theatres nearby to continue your evening. Look forward to seeing you there.
