Makeup Inaugural Group Gathering at the Winery at Bull Run

This will be the make up opportunity for those who couldn’t make it to Saturday’s meeting. The purpose is to meet and get to know one another as well as learn what polo activities are happening in the near future both to watch (while sipping excellent wine and champagne!) and to participate in.

After introductions of the group organizer (Mark Gillespie) and each other, Mark will provide a general overview of what polo is available in the area (Who, What, When, Where) for potential polo events as well as potential vineyards and wineries for future gatherings to discover good wines and champagne to enjoy at the next polo event. The group will have the opportunity to do wine tastings of what Bull Run Winery has to offer (tastings must be purchased from the winery) as well as purchase a glass or bottle to sip on during the event. Mark will be available to give an overview of the sport of polo as well as wines and champagnes that pair well with viewing polo events. Some key purposes of the group is to meet new people, learn something new about both polo and wine/champagne and, for the more adventurous, actually give it a try. Interestingly, one can give it a try on foot, on a bicycle, on a wooden horse mainly to learn the strokes used in polo or on an actual horse. I do not anticipate the ability to have anyone give it an actual try at the winery. :)

Participants will need to bring their valid IDs to verify their age as over 21 in order to purchase or consume any alcohol at the winery. For those between the ages of 18 and 21, they are welcome to learn about polo and outstanding vino and bubbly to accompany watching it...however, they will not be allowed to drink any alcohol at this or any future event of this group until they reach their 21st birthday (with absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS!). Please note that participants may bring their own wine, champagne or other alcoholic beverages to most of the polo venues at which the group will have future events.
