Wine and Conversation at the Wiseguy Lounge
Details
Thanks to everyone who came to Vinology in April. It was fun to talk to everyone. I really like the vibe of sitting outside on Mt. Lookout square and the conversation was great.
The May event is in Pleasant Ridge.
The Wiseguy Lounge (6099 Montgomery Rd. 45213)
Wiseguy Lounge in Pleasant Ridge is one of those cool hidden little gems that I enjoy finding in Cincinnati. The Lounge has a relaxed atmosphere and a kind of upscale and luxurious feeling even though it is a local hangout kind of place. There are various seating options with some couches, and a 2nd floor balcony overlooking the street corner. It is above Goodfellas Pizza, which is at the corner of Ridge and Montgomery Rd.
They go for a 50's style Frank Sinatra kind of atmosphere. I don't think most people know it is here. They don't specialize in wines in the way a wine shop does but they have splits (2 1/2 glasses) and have Cabs/Chards/Pino Grigiot, etc. Coe, the manager is going to also order in single size bottles just for our group. There won't be any fancy wines here, but there will be good basic drinkable choices under $10 a glass.
That said, this place also prides itself on bartenders skilled in cocktails and plenty of beers choices. And of course, food from Goodfellas menu can be ordered and they bring it to you.
You enter Goodfellas and head to the back to find the stairs. Go up the stairs and you'll find the bar.
There is parking on the streets, and one block north on Montgomery is a parking lot. (Across the street from Cafe Alma).
This should be a very casual fun place to hang out. Looking forward to talking with everyone.
