I am so incredibly thankful for the blessings in my life, and I never take for granted how lucky I am. We have so much fun in this group, and I truly believe that makes us very fortunate. At the same time, I recognize that many people in our community are struggling.

As we head into 2026, one of my personal goals is to give back more — and to intentionally include giving back as part of our group activities.

Harry Chapin Food Bank has always been one of my favorite organizations, so it felt important to include them.

⏰ 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
📍 Harry Chapin Food Bank – Fort Myers Warehouse
📍 3760 Fowler St, Fort Myers, FL 33901

They currently need 9 volunteers for this shift.

🥖 Volunteer Projects May Include:

• Bread Sorting & Packing
  Packaged bread donated by local baking companies arrives six days a week. Due to its short shelf life, this project is completed almost daily.
• Food Drive Sorting & Packing
  Tasks include lifting up to 20 pounds, sorting food by category, checking “best by” dates, inspecting for damaged packaging, and packing sorted food into boxes by weight.
• Meat Sorting & Packing
  Assist in sorting and packing cold meat donations.

ATTIRE:

• Closed-toe shoes required (no Crocs, sandals, or flip-flops)
• Jeans, t-shirts, and shorts are acceptable (shorts must reach fingertip length)
• No tank tops or bare midriff tops
• Warehouse is not climate-controlled; dress for the weather and wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty

Safety & Conduct

• No smoking, eating, or drinking in the warehouse (break room only)
• Cell phones, earbuds, and electronic devices are not permitted during the shift
• Some tasks require reading — please bring glasses if needed
• Volunteers not meeting attire requirements will not be permitted to serve

🚗 Parking & Check-In:

• Use the Central Ave entrance (via Winkler or Carroll Rd)
• Park outside the fenced area — vehicles parked inside risk damage
• Enter through the office door and inform the receptionist you are here to volunteer
• Additional parking available at Dollar General – 3995 Fowler St

I understand many of our friends work during the week, but unfortunately, this organization only had weekday availability for this opportunity. If you’re unable to join us, please check their calendar — there are many other volunteer opportunities throughout the month.
