GERMAN WINES
Details
It’s the start of Octoberfest in Deutschland! Let’s celebrate by exploring wines from the country that has been producing great wines for millennia. For our October session, everyone is invited to choose a German wine that they think is interesting and bring it to present and share. Rieslings, of course, are the most common but there are now many other new varietals being grown. Can you find a Spatburgunder?
Our process will be the same as usual: Everyone will take a turn presenting their selection and providing some background information about it. (Some research may be required.)
We will all then share, taste and critique each bottle.
I will provide some tasting glasses but if you have some of your own, bring them along.
If you want to bring some other food items to accompany your presentation, that would be welcome also.
I have reserved a large outdoor table for us on the recreation deck of my condo building in Kakaako. (Access details will be sent on the day before the event to those who RSVP.
Because of space restrictions, we can only accommodate about a dozen people for this event.
If you’re certain you will attend, please sign up soon so we can get a count of how many people to expect.
Hope to see you there,
Bob
