🏮Biodynamic wine follows the phases of the moon. Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates the fullest, brightest moon of the year. This Wine Wednesday, we're bringing the two together.
We'll start with the basics: what biodynamic winemaking actually is, how the lunar calendar shapes when grapes are planted, pruned, and harvested, and how that translates into what's in your glass.
Then we'll taste 5 biodynamic wines together and draw the connection to Chinese Mid-Autumn traditions — moon worship, reunion, and the symbolism that's followed the lunar calendar for centuries.
The highlight of the night: a Chinese wine from Xiaopu (小圃), a cult-favorite low-intervention producer that isn't sold anywhere in Spain!
🥮 To make it a proper celebration, we're serving mooncakes flown in directly from my favorite bakery in Yunnan: a savory Yunnan ham mooncake and a sweet rose mooncake. Alongside them, we'll have our usual spread of bites to pair with the wines.
