Trans-Continental German Wine Tasting with Lunch/Dinner

Details
Dear Wine Lovers of NYC
Because it is still not possible to have live wine tastings, we once again have teamed up with wine Meetup groups in Berlin and London
Hosted by Sean Leaf Roe, a Londoner living in Berlin, the session will discuss German wines, both red and white, while we have a simple lunch (in New York) and dinner (in Germany) including assorted cheeses.
We selected three inexpensive wines that you can buy or order for delivery from Warehouse Wine and Spirits (https://www.warehousewinesandspirits.com/) at 735 Broadway (corner Waverly Place), or you can buy similar wines at your favorite wine shop.
The wines we suggest are:
-
Kees Kieren - Graacher Hochgewachs Riesling Trocken 2015 $16.99 https://bit.ly/3hlV30J
Food pairing: Riesling works so well with all kinds of cheese, but maybe especially with goat’s cheese, or young Gouda. Of course, fish or seafood is also a great match – herring, trout or perch gets you extra authentic Mosel river points. -
Villa Wolf - Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) 2015 $11.99 https://bit.ly/3eEp5e5
Food pairing: Weissburgunder also goes nicely with softer and younger cheese and fish – as well as chicken It can also pair with mild curried or spicy dishes. -
Villa Wolf - Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) 2017 $14.99 https://bit.ly/3fO9VEA
Food pairing: Spätburgunder is a great accompaniment for mushroom flavors, anything with truffle oil, or more mature cheeses such as Alter Gouda or Cheddar.
Sean has a WSET Level 3 qualification and over 15 years’ experience of hosting wine-tasting seminars. He has lived and worked in the wine regions of France - including the Loire Valley, Languedoc and Alsace - running a wine export firm, a bar and a wine shop.
