**Loire Valley Wine Visit - Schedule**

We are very excited to launch our 3rd wine tour, in the diverse and prestigious Loire Valley.

Learn all about the food and wine of this stunning region, guided by wine expert [Sean](https://www.winetastrs.com/winetastrs-about-us/), whose love for wine was born and developed during the years that he lived in Tours.

The weekend starts with a buffet of regional pâtés, meats, smoked fish and cheese – served with red, white, rosé and sparkling wines that give a broad understanding of the local grape varieties and styles.

Over the next two days we dive into a vineyard’s troglodyte tunnels for a private tasting, and also visit one of the world’s most celebrated châteaux while sampling the wine from the surrounding hillsides.

You will also have some time to stroll around the gorgeous medieval town of Tours, promenade along the river and dive into its abbey, château and many museums.

On the weekend evenings we have organised two gourmet meals with paired wine choices in a couple of the charming family-run restaurants in the jewel of the Loire. The game, river fish, vegetables and cheese from this region are world famous.

The bottles are selected to that you will end up having tried the important wine styles from the Loire Valley, as well as every flagship AOC, and also some fascinating curiosities.

Throughout the trip all your questions will be answered by a wine-expert with intimate knowledge of the history, geography, and terroir of the region.

The price of the Loire trip is slightly more expensive then the Languedoc due to the cost of gastronomy in this wonderful area. Tours is currently recoqnised as one of 4 best cities for gastronomy in France by the ministry of culture.

On the other hand getting to Tours is considerably easier and cheaper than Narbonne for most people.

Berlin to Tours - you can fly with Air France to CDG airport in Paris and from here there is a direct train to Tours which takes about 1.5 hours. There is a cheaper flight with Easyjet to Paris Orly airport. From here you can take the shuttle bus to Monparnasse train station. Here you can take a train direct to Tours. It takes about 1 hour.

London to Tours - you can fly direct to Tours from Stansted. There is a flight Friday morning and returning Monday morning which is perfect for our trip. The current price is round 85 pounds return.

Dublin to Tours - You can fly direct to Tours but only on the Wednesday the 21st. This happens to be Fête de la Musique - the biggest party day in France and a great time to be there. Practically every bar and restaurant will provide live music and there are lots of free outdoor concerts. You can also come via Paris if the dates of the flights do not suit.

Paris - this is very simple - one hour TGV from Montparnasse
