What we’re about
It has been a year that this group was formed.
Now it is time to change our name, because the original name is confusing.
Many of you joined because you enjoy the outdoors and like to hike and meet people with the the same interest. When they found that our hikes are local, they decided that it is not convenient to attend due to the locations.
Most of the hikers who have hiked with us live in the San Fernando and the Conejo Valleys And they do not want to drive long distances, due to high gas prices and fight the traffic.
Please as our new name says we plan to hike both in SFV and sometimes in the Conejo Valley.
Our hikes are will be suited for all ages. We do not do long hikes .Most of hikes will be between 4-6 miles. The elevation will be no higher than 600- 700 feet. Some will be suitable for people who just start to hike.
We will tell you how difficult the hike is going to be. You are always feel free to ask beforehand.
You are welcome to walk at your own speed. You will not be left behind!!
Most of the hikes will be on marked trails and you will not be lost.
The locations will be easy to find with plenty of parking.

FYI : A number of you were asking about hiking in Calabasas and Agoura Hills.
Please note we are trying to avoid the 101 Freeway. Due to road closures, driving the 101 Freeway is a nightmare.We will be staying around Woodland Hills and West Hills until further notice.
Most of the hikes will be between 4-5 miles long and will last about two hours, but you have an option to make the hike longer.
Our group have experienced hikers and others who would like to walk at a leisurely pace. In order to accommodate everyone, we may have two groups.
Know your limitations. You decide! Both will have leaders.Doggies on leashes are always welcome.
PLEASE bring plenty of water and wear hiking boots.LOCATION : PRESSMAN TRAIL
DIRECTIONS: Take the 101 Freeway to Valley Circle and go South to Vanowen Street. Turn left and park.

CHIPPING IN: Our group has been around for a while. This is a good sign, because there must be a reason that we are still going strong.
As you know it costs $$ to belong to Meetup. They keep raising the dues. They know that we have no choice.
Anytime, that you feel that it is time to chip in, please do so.
It is 100% voluntary.
