January - Vue & ASP.NET Core: Better Together

Vue.js is a light-weight, versatile and performant front-end framework for developing user interfaces. It can be used on its own within existing applications or as a full SPA framework. In this talk, we're going to look at the basics of Vue such as data binding, control statements and custom components. Then we'll see how we can use it with ASP.NET Core, Microsoft's new open-source web framework. We will see how to add it to existing Razor views to make them more interactive, and then how to develop a SPA application using the Vue CLI and a ASP.NET Core Web API.

Speaker: Matt Millican

Matt Millican is a full-stack web developer specializing in the ASP.NET ecosystem. He has been developing professionally for 10 years. At his day job, Matt leads the back-end development team at Graydient Creative, working on both internal platforms and client projects. Matt's passion is creating tools to make the jobs (and lives) of others better. He is a geek at heart and often excited by all things development and technology related. When not at the computer, you can find him spending time and traveling with family, golfing, watching the Packers, Brewers or Badgers, or working on his model railroad.
