The Financial Abuse Workshop: How to Stop the Cycle of Abuse
Details
INTRODUCING THE FINANCIAL ABUSE WORKSHOP: HOW TO BREAK THE CONTROL CYCLE
All New for Summer 2026
Do you know that financial abuse is present in 99% of all narcissistic and domestic abuse relationships?
Financial abuse is one of the most oft reported problems at SONA and has been since our inception in 2021. It can occur when one abusive person has control over the victim's access to economic resources which diminishes the victim's capacity to support themselves and forces them to depend on the perpetrator financially or it can present when a person illegally uses a person's property, money or other valuables. It also includes the deprivation of money or other property or even by evicting someone from their own home using false reporting to law enforcement. We have seen it all here and we are now here to help you with this special workshop.
Today we'll explore:
* What comprises financial abuse
* helping victims spot subtle signs of financial abuse and control that may not be obvious
* discussions on financial literacy and things victims need to know
* legal discussions on financial abuse including navigation of the legal system if it is happening to you
* financial planning for independence
* legal options in divorce or custody cases
COST: $20.00 - non refundable, one time fee.
Join us tonight from 6 - 8 pm EST to discuss this in depth using education strategies and exercises to overcome intrusive thinking.
YOUR ORGANIZER: Many of you know me but to those who don't, hi, I'm Kerrin and I have Complex PTSD from a childhood with a malignant narcissistic mother and an emotionally abusive relationship with a likely sociopath. I started this group in 2021 to deal with the aftereffects of that trauma and have fumbled through establishing a new community of people to surround myself with. I have suffered with intrusive thinking for the better part of my adult life and am excited to discuss this phenomenon with others who have these same issues.
You do NOT have to be an established member to attend. Educational material will be provided upon request to any attendee post-workshop.
Zoom Links will be sent the morning of the workshop to everyone's Private Messages and email
