Book Reading and Discussion (part II): The Phaedo dialogue by Plato

Best known for promoting the quest for knowledge, Socrates emphasized not thinking that you already know as the best starting point. Join us for a two-part series of reading and discussion of the dialogue Phaedo that show how the brilliant and profound teachings of the philosopher Socrates came to shine brightest during his darkest final days, after he was sentenced to death.

For this second session we will explore the teachings of Socrates and discuss selected passages from the book Five Dialogues by G.M.A. Grube. There will be a copy of the book that we will pass around and share, or you may bring your own.
