You had a few drinks, you spent the NYE with friends at a party. You celebrated. You cheered. You made your resolutions and wishes for a great year. You posted some of the pictures online, leaving traces of your digital DNA and data all over the place.

Half Presentation/half demo, the topic of this Flash Session will discuss the Cached Experience, presented by members of the Cached Collective.
The Cached experience takes a physical approach to personal digital data. The project engages with the repercussions of our individual online presence. Every click, like, and search we make is cached, used to create a digital model of each of us to learn as much as possible. The Cached experience will give you a glimpse at how computers have learned to view us and the assumptions they make.

Aline Martinez

I believe our interactions with technology have become a new extension of who we are. Our online presence has become a part of our identity and, as such, is a new avenue of power and control. The personal and political ramifications of how we exist in digital spaces are of great interest to me.

I want to make the complex issues surrounding data and technology legible to the general public. As a creative, I strive to express the complicated nuances through tangible and immediately understandable means. I work to educate myself and share that knowledge as widely as possible.

New technological products and services are increasingly becoming more and more complex. I’m interested in dissecting this complexity and distilling it into a simple and unique physical form. I like to reimagine our present in completely novel ways and see how people respond.
