Big Shoals - Suwannee River Paddle

This is a short, 6 mile paddle from Big Shoals Launch to White Springs. We'll meet at 9 a.m., drop kayaks and gear, then shuttle vehicles to the takeout at Suwannee Wayside Park in White Springs, Fl. Wear a face mask and be willing to help shuttle vehicles as we can only have a limited number of passengers in each vehicle. You can arrange your own shuttle, if you prefer.
Have cash for the state park parking fee. There is no fee for parking at White Springs.
We'll paddle 1 mile to the portage around Big Shoals. Everything you bring will be carried 400 feet on the portage trail so travel light. If you have portable wheels to carry kayaks, bring them if you can. There are steep banks to climb up and down but we'll have plenty of time. We'll take a break here and enjoy the beauty and sounds of these rapids.
Re-launching takes some agility and balance, we'll help each other get back on the river and paddle on to Little Shoals. For safety, no children please.
Have a rope on your boat. Everyone must wear a PFD.
