Suwannee River Chainsaw Cleanup, Part 2

Details

Rescheduled due to cold weather, water level, and other reasons: the return of Suwannee River Chainsaw Cleanup!

If you have paddled recently on the upper Suwannee above Fargo, you would have stopped a couple of times to portage around large trees that have fallen across the river. This cleanup will help to make paddling through this section easier and much safer for all boaters. You do not have to use a saw, you are welcome to come and enjoy the unspoiled wilderness; however, if you have a chainsaw, sawzall, or handsaw and know how to use it, bring it. It sounds like work but it is actually an enjoyable day on the river. The river is very low, be prepared to get wet.
We'll meet at the Fargo Boat Ramp and work out a shuttle to the put in. Be on time, phone service can be iffy here and we are launching from an unmarked landing. Thanks to Adam Schock of the Conservation Fund for permission to use Three Steps Landing for launching.
Please comment below if you have any questions. Hope to see you!
Free: This outing is free because it is a cleanup.
Paddle: 5 miles, 4 hours.
Shuttle: 6.2 miles, 45 minutes.
