Alapaha River Paddle - Naylor Ramp to Mayday Landing

Details

This will be a fun 11.24 mile paddle through quiet wilderness on the Alapaha River from Naylor Boat Ramp to Mayday Landing. Don't be fooled by the sign for the turnoff to Hotchkiss Landing, it is very close to the turnoff to Naylor Boat Ramp, where we will be unloading boats and gear.
Please come on time and be ready to shuttle to the takeout promptly at 9:30 a.m. Mayday is a popular beach spot and parking isn't designated, more like a dirt field with soft sand (GPS: 30.82827, -83.017179).
Everyone must wear a PFD while on the water. Depending on water levels there will be some shoals. Have a tow rope on your boat. It's sure to be a hot day so plan on getting splashed.
There is a steep sandy hill to climb up with your kayak to where our vehicles will be parked at Mayday. Don't let any of that deter you from coming out and enjoying this beautiful section of the river!
