Full Snow Moon Paddle

Details
Join us for a leisurely Sunset and Full Moon Paddle on our watery living room at Banks Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
When: Gather 5:30 PM, launch 5:55 PM, moonrise 6:35 PM, sunset 6:18 PM, end 7:30 PM.
Safety: Be on time. If you miss the safety briefing, you cannot paddle with us. Each person, no matter how young or old, must wear a PFD at all times while on the water.
You should have a light for your boat or some type of light to have on yourself (glow sticks work well, or head lamp, flashlight, etc.) so other boaters can see you in the dark. It will be totally dark after sunset. And please do not shine bright white lights in people’s eyes. Full dark adaptation can take more than 20 minutes, and a bright light can ruin it in seconds.
A whistle is not required, but it’s a good idea in the dark.
Boats: Bring your own if you have it. Thanks to Lanier County and Banks Lake Outdoors for free boat rental for these paddles. To reserve a boat, please use this Eventbrite ticket: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/kayak-and-canoe-reservation-for-banks-lake-full-snow-moon-2025-02-12-tickets-1232308159879
Free: This outing is free to WWALS members, and $10 for non-members. If you would like to become a WWALS member and paddle free all year, or prepay $10 as a non-member, please use this link before the outing: [https://wwals.net/outings/]. We can take cash at the outing if you're unable to prepay.
You can help with clean, swimmable, fishable, drinkable, water in the 10,000-square-mile Suwannee River Basin in Florida and Georgia by becoming a WWALS member today!
