Franklinville Cleanup, Withlacoochee River

Details
Clean up trash in the Withlacoochee River from Franklinville Landing in hardwood floodplain for about a mile downstream, past Cat Creek. This is mostly a walking cleanup. If you want to bring a kayak or canoe, those could also be useful, although you’re probably going to be dragging them a bit. We will also visit the nearby monument to Franklinville, which was the county seat of Lowndes County before Valdosta and before Troupville.
Bring: Cleanup materials will be provided, but if you’ve got a trash picker, bring it along.
Please follow Leave No Trace principles by packing out all trash, avoiding damage to vegetation, and respecting wildlife.
Free: This outing is free to everyone, because it is a cleanup!
You can help with clean, swimmable, fishable, drinkable, water in the 10,000-square-mile Suwannee River Basin in Florida and Georgia by becoming a WWALS member today!
