Artificial Intelligence is shaping how we work, decide, and innovate - but it’s often surrounded by hype, buzzwords, and uncertainty.

In this WIT’s Who Lunch session, we invite you to step back, ask better questions, and explore what AI really means in practice. We’re excited to welcome Kosovare Olluri, Head of AI & ML at XLENT Norway, Top 50 Tech Women 2025, and PhD in Astrophysics, who will bring a grounded, real-world perspective on how AI is built, applied, and experienced beyond the headlines.

Title: AI: Myths, Reality, and Real-World Impact:

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere - from headlines and hype to tools we use at work every day. But what does AI actually do, where does it add real value, and where does it fall short?

In this talk, Kosovare will break down AI and generative AI in a practical, accessible way. We’ll look at what’s behind the technology, common misconceptions, and why many AI initiatives struggle to move from proof-of-concept to real impact.

Through real-world examples, we’ll explore how AI can support better decisions, reduce routine work, and act as a collaborative tool rather than a replacement for people.

We’ll also touch on important challenges such as data quality, bias, privacy, and security — and what responsible AI looks like in practice. The session will conclude with concrete examples of how modern AI solutions are being built today, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and AI agents.

This talk is aimed at anyone curious about AI - no deep technical background required - and especially those who want to feel more confident participating in conversations and decisions about AI in their organizations.

In Person:

The talk will start 17.15 and last approximately 45–60 minutes, followed by food and drinks generously provided by XLENT and an informal networking session
