This event was moved from the Socal Mountaineers group as I have no control over anything there and cannot set the limit. I am putting the limit at 15 people, as if it's much more than that its just too much to deal with. We can always schedule another later in February.

I've been dying to get back in the snow and would love to do a trip up the Baldy Bowl. I've done it twice before and it's super fun!

I've done WTC and did the snow travel and glacier travel/rescue class last year with SMI and I'd love to practice some of the techniques again. I will also be doing a 3 day avalanche class with SMI in Jan and on Saturday will be doing a refresher on Crevice rescue with the Sierra Club. So I'd love to help other people as well as getting some good practice myself.

Time and snow permitting I say we go up the Baldy Bowl, practice snow travel/self arrest techniques and then summit Baldy. If there is time on the way back down we can practice crevice rescue techniques or schedule this for another day.

Required equipment would be:

1. Crampons
2. Ice axe
3. Helmet
4. Snowshoes (Depending on snow conditions)
Optional:
4. Harness (Glacier travel)
5. Static rope (Glacier travel)
6. Pulleys and carabiners (Glacier travel)
7. Snow stakes/anchors

Meet at the Manker Flats trailhead at 8:00am
