This is going to be an amazing weekend.
Those leaving Perth on Friday morning, let's meet up at Williams Woolshed @ 11am for lunch and a break.
Please note in the Stirling Ranges there are charges for National Park Fees if you're helping with carpooling on Saturday & Sunday ($17 per day) if you have an annual pass please ensure you take it.
The intention is to do a few of the beautiful walks in the Stirling Ranges and Porongurups. There are quite a few to consider but at this stage select Mt Trio or Mt Maggog for Saturday morning then we will be hiking Bluff Knoll on Saturday afternoon to see the sunset, select Mt Hassell or Mt Talyuberlup for Sunday morning. Those going to Albany could select Castle Rock (optional) for Sunday afternoon. These are considered challenging walks and should only be attempted by those who are very regular walkers. We are open to other suggestions.
Accomodation: We are staying at the Stirling Range Retreat. 8639 Chester Pass Rd. (Click on the map for GPS exact location.) For cabins you can contact Stirling Range Retreat on Ph: 98279229 or log online here Booking. Please Mention you're with Walking Mates Australia so that they can try to keep us together.
If you have your own caravan/camper mention WMA when you book so that you can get a site near us.
Powered sites to share: I have booked powered sites for those who want to camp with me at $20 per night. You will need your own tent, rooftop tent, car or swag. You may choose to stay with me either 2 or 3 nights. PM me your E.O.I.
Sharing powered site with Eugène (3 nights) are Ting (3n), Debbie (2n), Sara (2n)
& sharing with James (3n) are: Joe (3n), Yokey (2n), Ron (3n)

When: The main weekend will be from Friday at 2pm for those booking into their accomodation until Sunday after the hike. Some people will drive home from there. Others will stay Sunday night and go back to Perth on Monday.

Albany option: There will be an option for those who can, to join a few of us going to Albany for more fun and adventures from Monday to Friday. PM me if you're interested. I will create a WhatsApp group for this option.

What to take: Food for 3 days and 3 nights. Clothing and camping gear. Expect cold nights so I will be taking thick doonas and good sleeping bags. The weather in September is quite variable, be prepared to layer up for the cold and wet but we could have lovely warm, sunny days.
The Bluff Knoll Café is 450m from our accomodation. They are open daily from 8am to 5pm. There are new owners so let's hope the standard has improved, the food is basic and the store has minimal stock but who can complain? Good for coffee, light meals and a chat after a hike.
Mobile reception is very limited even with Telstra. Fine on top of the mountains. :-)
