Bickley brook hardcore hike.

Details
Starting at the Bickley brook reservoir car park, this walk incorporates some seriously steep uphill and downhill sections with a total 478 meters elevation gain (according to alltrails) but its probably more by my reckoning.
This is an out and back walk which includes two large loops covering some sensational bush and fabulous views.
At this time of the year the forest is cool and moist, making the hike bearable as we gasp in the fresh morning air.
Our hike starts innocently enough before it pushes your heart rate soaring as we scale the first and most unrelenting uphill of the 12km hike, once we summit we can recover briefly before a tricky decent begins. The rest is essentially several variations of the same.
Afterwards we plan to enjoy a coffee at King and Spoon in Lesmurdie. See the comments thread for Google directions if needed.
MeetUp: At Bickley brook reservoir carpark. Click on the map (top of page) and your GPS will take you to the exact starting point.
Parking: Parking at the MeetUp point.
Difficulty: 12km and 478m elevation gain. FEELS LIKE MORE! With cool weather this is a very challenging walk, with great views and bushlands to enjoy. The path can be muddy and slippery after rain, but it is mostly the pea gravel and rocks that cause the greater risk of slip/trip hazards.
There are numerous cross intersections to navigate so it is a hike best suited to our regular group of fit experienced hikers and you if you are a confident hiker. Don't hesitate to download the alltrails map ahead of time to follow.
Toilets can be found at the reserve car park where we begin.
What to bring: Hat, water and a rain jacket just in case. Poles and proper hiking shoes are recommended.
