FINAL Sculptures by the Sea, Leighton to Cottesloe & back - SSSSSS (7km)

Did you miss out on our first Sculptures by the Sea walk?
Final chance to see the 21st anniversary Sculptures by the Sea and our final Sunday Summer Sunset Series Event. 😟

Starting at Leighton Beach we will walk together to Cottesloe and appreciate the amazing sculptures. Take your shoes off and walk along the shoreline for the first 2.4km of beach, the rest is paving. We will arrive at Cottesloe as the sun sets (6:25pm) and you might get some interesting light in your photographs.
Members will walk back to Leighton when they are ready and we will finish with a picnic. Expect to get there around 7:30pm.
What to bring: BYO picnic, cold drinks, a thermos of hot coffee, a chair/picnic rug, mosquito repellent and a jumper. Take thongs to walk on the 2 short sections of paving. There are BBQs nearby. For the lazy there is a pizza shop close by. Take your bathers & towel if you want to go for a swim.
Where to find us: We will be leaving promptly at 5:30pm from the MeetUp point near the large circular oval close by to The Orange Box Café. Click on the map’s pin drop for the exact starting point.
Parking: There are two decent car parking areas a very short walk from the starting point.
Distance: Approx. 7+km
Difficulty: Mainly sand and some bitumen paths. Expect an easy walk but at a reasonable pace (5 to 6 km/h). We should complete the walking component in an hour and 20 minutes.
Toilets & change room: Toilets at Cottesloe and at the start/end. Change rooms near the picnic spot.

RSVP - no shows & late arrivals: If you are on the "Going" list and can't make it on the day please RSVP "Not Going" at the earliest convenience as a courtesy so to allow others to join who might be on the "Waitlist".
We aim to set-off for each walk at the advertised time and as a general rule, we set off on-time for each walk.

IMPORTANT: By confirming your attendance attendees agree to "WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY" the organisers, co-organisers, event organisers, volunteers and members of the Walking Mates Australia Meetup Group from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from Injuries and Damages, even if caused by negligence, in any way connected with Walking Mates Australia.
Attendees further agree to HOLD HARMLESS the organisers, co-organisers, event organisers, volunteers and members of Walking Mates Australia Meetup Group from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by their own negligence while a participant on the Event.
