Cape to Cape - October '26

Walking Mates C2C '26 is occurring.
When you hit the ATTEND button you will be automatically moved to the Wait List. Don't panic!! Once you have completed the following 4 steps I will move you to the Going List.

• Step 1: Send me your email address so that I can send you the 10 page document with all of the information you need to know. ***eugenedegouw@gmail.com***
• Step 2: Send me your phone number so that I can put you on the WhatsApp list for communication.
• Step 3: Pay the $15 non refundable holding fee. (Account details in the 10 page document mentioned above.)
• Step 4: Attend one of the 3 Meet & Greet walks so that you can assess your own ability for a 25km hike and so can I.

Meet & Greet 25km hiking events in Aug, Sep & Oct so that you can meet other attendees. This is so that we can assess your fitness for completing the 26km distance we will experience over each of the 5 days of hiking.

When will the C2C occur
Sunday 25 Oct to Sunday 1 November
Distance
The CtoC goes from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin, a distance of 126km. Over each of the 5 days we will spend approximately 7.5 hours walking 26km with one day of rest on Thursday.
Accomodation
We will be staying at Prevelly (Sun to Wed nights) and Hamelin Bay (Thurs to Sat nights) caravan parks. You will have to arrange and pay for your own cabin accomodation unless you're staying on my pre-booked camping sites. There will be opportunities for you to organises sharing in cabins with others.
Difficulty
A very variable track, some easy picturesque forest trails, a saunter by the beach, fairly flat trails on the escarpment. However, there are hard sections including two 6km beach walks that are very tiring and a dune or two to get up.
We're glamping rather than camping. Expect to only carry a 2.5kg backpack each day.

RSVP - If you are on the "Going" list and can't make it please RSVP "Not Going" at the earliest convenience as a courtesy to the group and for logistics. The holding fee is non refundable and you will be removed from the WhatsApp group.
IMPORTANT: By confirming your attendance attendees agree to "WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY" the organisers, co-organisers, event organisers, volunteers and members of the Walking Mates Australia Meetup Group from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from Injuries and Damages, even if caused by negligence, in any way connected with Walking Mates Australia.
Attendees further agree to HOLD HARMLESS the organisers, co-organisers, event organisers, volunteers and members of Walking Mates Australia Meetup Group from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by their own negligence while a participant on the Event.
