Nantahala Yellow Mountain Trail

Details
Yellow Mountain is the highest peak of the Cowee Mountain chain. This is a difficult, steep, out and back 11.7 mile hike that finally rewards you with a beautiful historic fire tower and a 360 degree view. While on this trail; you are either climbing or descending - both on the way to the too and on the way back - there is no level ground on this hike. The elevation gain is about 3000 ft and should take about 6 hours.
There is limited parking at the trailhead - so we will need to arrange for carpooling .
